This work is inspired by Egon Schieles drawings from when he was living in the Czech village of Český Krumlov around 1911. He had always been attracted by the pittoresque birthplace of his mother. And after having visited the place myself I was also very charmed.
Yet, not as much as I am by the drawings. As a tribute to Schiele I created this three dimensional landscape with minimal lines that like in Schieles drawings indicate the presence of houses.
